The Third Wheel

By Jude Lally

The Third Wheel

always rolls through rough terrain
patches of gravel or stretches of high
grass prove no match for its will

when facing thresholds or stumps
it hits with a running start or kicks
it up a notch to get over humps

it never navigates its own path
always follows the other two
no use being alone
