Norman’s Cleanup Service

Since starting Norman’s Cleanup Service in 2020, Philadelphia artist and anti-litter advocate Norman Dixon has been cleaning up the neighborhood. He does this by literally picking up trash, while also selling sanitation-themed artwork to promote his grassroots anti-littering campaign. He hosts Norman’s Super Trash Challenges - contests that encourage people to go around their own neighborhoods cleaning litter for a chance to win original artwork. Most recently, Norman has been drawing pictures of his favorite wrestlers and adapting their famous slogans to fit his messaging.

Tips from Norman

“Don’t litter. Be good. Wrestle instead. Don’t put trash on the ground. Put it in the trash can. Make sure to tell other wrestlers don’t throw trash on the ground, either.”

"After you get fast food, don’t throw the trash on the ground. Keep a trash can in your car! After you eat your burger from the drive-thru, don’t toss the wrapper out the window! Cool guys pick up trash."

Norman Dixon is an artist at Center for Creative Works in Philadelphia, PA
